Here are some common questions about PACE
How much does it cost to be a Hope PACE participant?
The program is free of charge for participants with dual Medicare and Medicaid coverage. For those with Medicare only or other health insurance, fees will apply. Hope PACE is also open to private pay participants. If you don’t have dual Medicare/Medicaid coverage, please ask us for an estimate of your costs. We can also help explain the Medicaid eligibility requirements in Florida.
Is Hope PACE a nursing home?
No, most program participants remain safely in their own homes. You may visit one of our Hope PACE Centers during the day.
How often will I go to the Hope PACE Center?
Most of our participants come to our center two or three times a week. Others may come for a full week. Some may only attend a few days a month. Our Care Team will help create a plan with you to determine how often you will visit your Hope PACE Center.
What happens if I have a health problem at night?
We make sure that you have the necessary care you need 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. You will never be without access to assistance.
I'm enrolled in Medicare Part-D for my prescription medications. Will I lose my coverage?
No. If you join Hope PACE, you will receive your Part D-covered drugs and all other necessary medication through our program. You will not need to join a separate Medicare drug plan.
Can snowbirds participate in Hope PACE?
No. This program is designed for full-time residents of Southwest Florida. Participants can’t be out of our three-county service area for more than 30 days.
What if I'm enrolled in Hope PACE, but can no longer live safely in my own home?
If you need nursing home services, Hope PACE will assist you in exploring appropriate alternatives for your living arrangements in the community. You will continue to receive our care.
What if I join, but I decide I want to leave Hope PACE?
You may leave Hope PACE at any time. Enrollment and disenrollment occurs at the beginning of each month.
