Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapies

physical therapyPhysical Therapy

Our physical therapy provides a safe environment to practice your balance and gain strength in your muscles. Benefits include increasing your range of movement, reducing pain, restoring your ability to function and preventing further disability.

In fact, it’s even possible to prevent the loss of mobility before it occurs. After physical therapy, you may be more likely to avoid falls - a leading cause of injury and disability. Some participants report increased confidence, in addition to the physical benefits!

Occupational Therapy

To help you live as independently as possible, you may receive Occupational Therapy - training for your daily activities, like dressing, eating and housekeeping. Occupational therapy is more than just physical exercises; you will also have your home environment assessed for safety and functionality. With the aid of an occupational therapist, you might arrange your home in a way that will better meet your needs. They may also be able to suggest assistive devices like special utensils for eating, shower seats or other helpful tools.

Speech Therapy

As we grow older, our vocal cords become less elastic and larynx muscles weaken, which can make normal speech difficult. Therapy can help participants regain communication ability.

Other speech problems may be the result of a medical problem, like a stroke. A speech therapist can help you learn to use the muscles in your face. As a result, you will be better able to eat, speak, and communicate with others.

One PACE Participant's PT Journey

Greg is one of the most amazing PT’s we have ever met, and we have met many. He took the time to explain what my husband was going through. He even took the time to look at his eyes, to see what was taking place. I really was so impressed with his knowledge and his caring ways. Greg is the first person who is getting through to my husband.

My husband is now starting to walk, not alone, but with a walker. The day it happened, Greg called me to say my husband had walked about twenty feet. I was so thrilled and excited, I couldn’t believe it. It was a wonderful, wonderful day! Every day my husband is getting stronger and stronger. It is absolutely amazing how much better he’s doing! It’s almost like Greg is a miracle worker. Thank you for having such a wonderful, caring man on your staff and blessing his clients with his knowledge and caring.
